Committed to Justice. Hard Working. Widely Respected.

Judge Robyn Millenacker was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota.  One of four children, she was an avid reader and an outstanding student while working part time to save money for college.

After graduating from John Marshall High School, Judge Millenacker attended the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts and the University of Minnesota Law School, graduating cum laude in 1988.

Judge Millenacker began her legal career clerking for the Honorable Janice Symchych in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.  She then moved to private practice in the litigation department of Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro in California. There she worked on a wide array of complex litigation, including product liability, business litigation and intellectual property disputes.

In 1996, Judge Millenacker returned to Minnesota to take a position as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Minnesota. At the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Judge Millenacker honed her legal skills prosecuting felonies and managing complex litigation with teams of lawyers, auditors, and investigators. Matters she worked on included prosecuting Ponzi schemers, and litigating cases involving whistle-blowers, health care fraud, defense contractor fraud, and securities fraud.

Based on her extensive experience, Judge Millenacker was appointed to the Ramsey County District Court in 2010, and won re-election in 2012.  Since her appointment, Judge Millenacker has worked to improve justice in Ramsey County.  In particular, Judge Millenacker has distinguished herself by leading other judges and the law-enforcement community in identifying and responding to the issue of sex trafficking of minors. She is a frequent speaker at judicial conferences on this and other topics.

Outside her judicial duties, Judge Millenacker has been involved with the Children’s Hospital Guild, the Girl Scouts, and the Mounds View High School Parent Booster Club.  Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, and attending her children’s activities.  She and her husband Michael Sharpe have four children.
